Meet the Doctor

Dr. Thorfinnson established his dental practice in East Grand Forks, MN in 1988. His professional education includes attending North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, earning his BS and DDS degrees. He is past president of NWDDS, where he also served on the Ethics and Bylaws committee as well as Peer Review.

With Dr. Thorfinnson’s passion for general dentistry as well as adult and children’s orthodontics, he has achieved the highest standards of orthodontic care and was awarded the title of Diplomate of the American Orthodontic Society by his peers.

His commitment to leadership has led to his election to the board of directors and currently serves as the President of the American Orthodontic Society.

As an avid outdoors man, Dr. Thorfinnson enjoys hunting and fishing with his wife Karen and his two sons Jeffrey and Zachary.
